The 2018 Winter Olympics are nearing the end, but there’s still some action left in Pyeongchang that you won’t want to miss. There are a handful of exciting competitions still to be held and a number of medals yet to be dealt out in a few of the top sports. The United States has finally cracked the top four in the total medal tally and is also up to eight golds so far in Pyeongchang, making a late run in some unexpected disciplines.
Team USA will be competing to add one of the most unlikely prizes to its collection early Saturday morning when the men’s curling team goes head-to-head with Sweden in the final. The Americans were a major underdog to advance this far, needing to best Canada—the three-time defending Olympic champions—twice in the span of less than a week in order to get to the gold medal game. It’s just the latest in a string of shocking results this week in Pyeongchang, as the USA women’s cross-country team also brought home their first ever gold—and second ever medal—in the sport, while the Americans took down Canada in the women’s hockey final, winning their first gold medal in two decades and getting revenge for their defeat to the the squad in Sochi four years ago.
