angelicaschreave wrote: July 12th, 2018, 11:31 am Hey Guys!
I'm new to using respondus (my first exam being Sunday) since I have always used Proctor U, but now I am taking an "easy" class with a hard/mean professor and I really need to pass to keep my GPA up. It's anatomy in a foreign language, making it twice as hard, and I really need my notes with me.

What's the easiest way to get through the browser and have another tab open? (or should i print everything and hide it) ANY advice welcome! :) I have a lenovo touchschreen laptop (and an ipad but that runs too slow) Anything that doesn't raise any flags please!!

I've read everything above but I am a newbie to technology so the simpler you guys can make it for me the better! :) Thanks so much for all the help! Hopefully y'all read this soon :)
Thanks for being sweet , simple and sincere @angelicaschreave. So far, I've taken a couple tests using the Respondus Lockdown browser and I've been smart enough to a few test cheat sessions with my webcam recording my eye movement while my tablet was resting on the right hand corner of my screen while I quickly google my questions.

I did better than I thought the first time and quickly learned from my mistakes while I watch my recordings afterwards. I did the real test after I had literally taught myself some cheating skills and yeah, I left no trace and passed well.

Angelicaschreave, I'm glad you took your time to read our previous discussions. Judging by your tone of writing, I can tell you're looking for the easy way out and not ready to get bored with any of the respondus lockdown browser hack shenanigans.

Firstly, is your session tracked? It's funny how many first time users read a lot of false news about the lockdown browser and live with the mindset. About 85% of the respondus lockdown browser are not tracked for numerous obvious reasons.

Tracking in this case means that your session is not set to utilize your webcam, microphone or keystrokes. Imagine an instructor having to watch video of some topless students in the comfort of their homes taking some privacy breaching exam.

For this reason, most schools have disabled the feature that explicitly grants this permission unless the very few that are implicitly granted. The funny thing is most interfaces will still tell you lies about it's tracking ability so you don't get to cheat (how else are they supposed to make you take an exam at your house and still not open your notes?).

There are two working ways towards bypassing the respondus lockdown browser: The first option is having to read the instructions previously mentioned in this forum and go through the rigor of setting it up, but YES, it does work. The second option is what I call my option, which has got me A's consistently for 4 semester without merit. I use windows but my guess is the steps are close to the same for Mac.

Step 1: Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your windows and enter Task Manager or click Start and start typing "Task"
Step 2: Navigate to Services (The point is to disable some services that can blow your cover)
Step 3: stop the following services if the status currently says "Running" - AppReadiness, BITS, DMEnorllmentSvc, pla, RpcLocator and WinRM

Step 4: Once these programs are stopped, you are as free as a bird. You can even complete the test naked while you webcam light is on.

Don't forget to set them back or better still, do a reboot as this automatically restores the settings to it's previous state.

Also, I bought a script that automatically does this job (don't ask me where) and even better. Took me like forever to find this lifetime fix. Good luck acing your tests!

How do I know if they are using the version and monitoring keystrokes? I am required to do a pan of the room, as well as a microphone test and during my test there is a webcam button on the far right that shows "green"?

I tried using the OlyDbug, but my code is different - has it been updated?

OlyDbug is outdated and deprecated. You are either using the most recent version or just using other better applications to hack the respondus lockdown browsers. These guys don't sleep. It looks like forumine is the only website with tangible true information as to bypassing the respondus lockdown browser.

To me, the easiest lazy man's work around to bypass the respodun lockdown browser will be going incognito on another tab.

If you have multiple tabs open in the respondus lockdown browser, there are slim chances that the tabs are being record or monitored. I am a legal practitioner so I can tell when the line of privacy is crossed.

Hypothetically speaking, if you found a way to open a second respondus lockdown tab in the same browser you were taking a test in, then you were able to navigate to google and do your thing seamlessly.

It involves using a virtual machine as well but with a few freeware. Download MS Dreamspark from google. You will also need to setup a VM of Windows 8 (Vmware fusion on my MBP and Hackintosh) all with software off of that site. They also have a bunch of other software. If you are taking any IT related class you should have access to it. If you don't contact your department. Download VMware player and install your VM OS. At this point, it doesn't matter if you run windows or linux OS but I'll strongly recommend a Linux OS for smooth bypass of the light respondus lockdown browser. There is no easy way out of this, at least that I know of. I think we should focus on the ahead of the tunnel rather than the task involved. I guess an alternate to these step will be if y'all study.

hi fairytale,

thank you so much for the link Boss I found it helpful but I still encounter some difficulties while installing and navigating. Do you mind if we talk via phone call? Pls help mee

I'm in dire need of assistance with getting around Repondus Lockdown. I have tried the Alt+Tab and apparently I did it wrong because another window never opened up for me. Any assistance provided would GREATLY be appreciated.

Hey I thought it recognized when a vmware is used
That is if you don't use the right version. Looks like the trick only works on just two versions of VMs
