This has been the history of many times. My class in RS gold history recently went through the period where trusts, monopolies and the country were under control. They established a system that allowed huge sums of money to be obtained by exploiting the United States' failing system of controlling this.
The wages paid to workers were so low that they were unable to pay the expenses of living. They were required to work for long hours, sometimes up to 14 hours a day to earn a few dollars. They could not quit because there cheap OSRS gold were so many other workers who could fill their shoes.
