My high school grade daughter is obviously going to be a medical doctor or a Chemist someday. I prefer the former for many obvious reasons. . I feel like this is great so I decided to share! I should see if any of the professors at my local university would be willing to take a high schooler to help out in their lab during the summer. It'll give her a good feel for what real research is like and what 'flavor' of chemistry she likes. They'd also be able to help you get in touch with the local ACS section which should have people willing to be mentors and other outreach programs.

This literally made my day. This is wow!!! Reminds of the good old days when I had to memorize the first 20 elements.

Gosh, I remember having to Memorize a long boring song just to remember all of these (I knew I was never gonn need it tho.) It somehow makes you the smartest kid in class. I memorized the nations of the world and then I had to write down as many countries on a paper as I can and I wrote like 50+ while everyone else had like 7. Still trying to figure out when the periodic table thing really comes in handy in real life.

I'm glad your daughter is growing up to become a doctor or pharmacist someday. If I could do this at her age, maybe I won't have to think about how life sucks so bad.
