The chairman of Tottenham opposes the Premier League club's temporary home of Wembley Stadium being sold to a rival for both soccer and NFL.With building work on its own new stadium in London overrunning by several months , Tottenham has been rescued by the English Football Association by being granted longer use of Wembley for its matches than originally agreed.When Tottenham's new venue is eventually completed, it will be hosting at least two NFL matches per season under a 10-year deal in competition with Wembley and its prospective new owner. Shad Khan, who owns the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team and London-based Premier League club Fulham, is trying to buy Wembley from the FA for 600 million pounds ($790 million) and sees it as a possible home for a London franchise.Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy's opposition to Khan's takeover was disclosed in the minutes of a meeting he held last week with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust.Levy was recorded as saying Khan buying Wembley would not impact Tottenham's plans for the NFL but that "he was against the sale of Wembley regardless." Tottenham did not dispute the accuracy of the account when contacted by The Associated Press.The FA leadership is working to push through the sale to Khan despite opposition among members of the governing body's council which includes Tottenham director of football operations Rebecca Caplehorn.After 118 years at White Hart Lane, Tottenham's stadium was completely demolished last year to make way for a new 62,000-seat venue on the same site in north London.A planned opening at the start of the season in August was aborted and Tottenham missed a second target to be ready in the middle of September due to issues with what the club called "critical safety systems."Tottenham has provided no timeline for the opening, with the FA bailing out the club by granting the continued use of Wembley which has put an unexpected burden on the field.Consistency on the offensive line will help Jaguars early The Jacksonville Jaguars offensive line in 2017 was above average, probably a lot better than most gave it credit for Womens Customized Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys , but for the 2018 season it should be much better for a few reasons. The Jaguars offensive line through training camp has been the same group of five, and it appears it’s going to stay that same group of five going forward.“It is definitely true ,” Jaguars offensive coordinator Nate Hackett said on Monday when asked if it was true the line has been consistent with the personnel this offseason. “I think even looking back at the OTAs we had a lot of movement in there. I give a lot of credit to Jermey Parnell. He has done a great job keeping himself healthy and being able to be out there. He has had a ton more reps working with A.J [Cann]. A.J. has been out there this whole time, which is great. [Brandon] Linder, [Andrew] Norwell, Cam [Robinson]. It’s great to see those guys continually work together, talk and communicate. Especially with the pace that we go at practice. It stresses them to have to talk all the time. I think that’s something that you see consistently getting better.”In past seasons there has always been one or two open spots on the line and you’d see a lot of shuffling around, multiple times, and really not have anything settled until Week 1 of the regular season. You can tell when a line hasn’t gotten comfortable working as a unit, but for the 2018 season [, it sure sounds like the offensive line is already building that unit mentality and will be ready to go in New York.“It’s just great right now kind of where those guys are and kind of working together and improving,” Hackett said. “It’s just everything you see being more efficient. You guys know that’s what we’re always looking for.”If the Jaguars can continue trotting the same five out through the preseason, with success on the field, they’ll be way ahead of where they were last season in regards to the line being settled and ready to go. The first few weeks of the season will be important to the Jaguars 2018 success, so the more reps they get together the better.
